Based on WK-10B had been carried out the mode variation design of  WP-6 Long Boom Excavator, increase the length of lifting arm to satisfy the process requirement of opencast mine deep extract loading.

WK-10B is the third generation modified WK-10 machine type, and also the present 10m³ excavator dominant product, had won the National Best Quality Product Gold Prize and Science & Technology Advance Prize. This kind of excavator bucket volume are 10m³, 12m³, 14m³, flat type 10m³, flat type 12m³ 5 kinds of bucket for user selection, suitable for ten million tons class large opencast extract of construction material, hydro-power, petroleum-chemistry etc. earthwork engineering, suitable in combination with 100-154 t trucks, and also a lowest environment work temperature of -45°.

WP-6 is based on WK-10B and proceed the type-change design, mainly is elongate its crane arm length, and in the meantime reduce the bucket volume from 10m³ into 6m³, suitable for railway transportation requirement of opencast mine deep extract loading.
